St. Kevin Catholic Elementary school opened in Welland in 1956 to serve the growing community around St. Kevin church and Notre Dame College School. The school shares its name with its nearby parish, named for the early Irish saint, St. Kevin, the founder and first abbot of Glendalough, Ireland.
Nearly 70 decades later, St. Kevin Catholic Elementary School continues to offer excellence in Catholic education to nearly 420 students in kindergarten through Grade 8. Led by a team of professional Catholic educators, St. Kevin Catholic Elementary School is a safe, inclusive place, where students learn and grow together in faith.
The Home of the Celtics (future Notre Dame Irish), St. Kevin is part of the Notre Dame Catholic College School family of schools, and is part of the Parish Community of St. Kevin.
